Pecky Cypress at KSU

We’re in the process of installing this pecky cypress for a project at Kennesaw State University.

The finish has been applied to 3.25″ pecky cypress with a v-groove tounge and groove. It is a weathered gray stain that has dried, then we put it through the planer to take off some of the gray.  The dark gray that remains is what is left in the “pecks” or recesses.  We then applied a different stain (minwaxspecial walnut 224) and allowed it to dry.  These are the results!

We’ll post more info and pictures when the project is completed.  Stay tuned!
